Belt adjustment: After the vehicle has been running for some time, adjust the tightness of the generator belt appropriately, then secure the adjusting screw.
Brush maintenance: If the contact surface of the brushes is uneven, use fine sandpaper to smooth the contact surface; if the brushes are short, and not damaged, you can insert shims into the brush holder to ensure a tight fit between the brush holder and the rectifier; if the brush holder insulator is damaged, the brush holder needs to be replaced.
Wire cleaning: Regularly clean the wires between the battery and the generator to keep them dry and prevent leakage.
Bearing lubrication: Pay attention to the degree of bearing wear. If lubrication is insufficient, add a few drops of engine oil from the oil cup, but the oil must not seep into the rectifier, otherwise it will affect the power transmission effect.
Part replacement: If the pulley groove is severely worn, the pulley groove needs to be replaced; if the generator malfunctions, remove the wires from the magnetic field coil to the voltage regulator. For three-brush generators, remove the third brush.
Fastening check: Secure the dust cover on the generator. The dust cover must not be removed to prevent dust from entering the generator and causing malfunctions; secure the generator's terminals. If the insulation is poor, remove the terminals for repair; regularly check the generator's wire connections to ensure they are secure and not loose; check the generator's fasteners, such as bolts and nuts, and tighten or replace them as needed.
