Structure and working principle of car generator

An automotive alternator mainly consists of a rotor, stator, rectifier, and voltage regulator.

Rotor: Generates a rotating magnetic field through excitation current; typically composed of salient poles, field windings, and slip rings.
Stator: Fixed inside the alternator housing; its windings cut the rotating magnetic field to generate alternating current (AC).
Rectifier: Converts the AC generated by the stator into direct current (DC), supplying power to the vehicle's electrical system and charging the battery.
Voltage regulator: Controls the excitation current to ensure the output voltage remains stable within the 13.8V-14.4V range, preventing overcharging or undercharging.

Beijing Dongtian Auto Parts Co., Ltd. has built a new production base in Jinta Development Zone, Dingxing County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. The base covers a total area of 22 mu.
